In Mongolia, NFC established Tsairt Mineral Co. with its local partner, and successfully developed Tumurtiin-Ovoo zinc mine, which is the first solid mineral project in the frame of Sino-Mongolian governmental cooperation and is still the largest mining joint-venture between the two countries in Mongolia. Tsairt has contributed significantly to Mongolian economic and social development, being regarded as the “model project of Sino-Mongolian cooperation” and one of the most successful cases of overseas investment by Chinese enterprises. In early 2015, Tsairt received the Mongolia Safety and Environment Award as the only one among mining enterprises in this country.
In Russia, NFC takes part in developing the world-class mine of Ozernoye zinc-lead project together with CDB and MBC, having signed the Principle Agreement of Financing Cooperation and EPCM agreement. The project has 157 mt of ore resource complied with JORC standard.
